At EXPO 2020/2021 in Dubai, his artwork “Cloud (Mrak)”, which enveloped the entire Czech pavilion, was omnipresent. The organizers of the renowned NordArt in Germany have invited him several times to present his sculptures both indoors and outdoors. Now La Gioia Ascona Arthouse offers art lovers the exclusive opportunity to view and purchase Jan Dostál’s great sculptures in Switzerland. What makes Jan Dostál’s style so unique? Jan Dostál has also come to the attention of the Catholic Church, which has commissioned him to carry out work on and in churches in the Czech Republic. His style is very diverse: dynamics and elegance mix with massive and archaic sculptures. Dostál uses various metals: he welds, cuts and deforms them in his own creative way. What makes Jan Dostál special is the fact that he creates his sculptures by hand, from the idea to the sketches to the finished realization. In Europe there are only a few artists with comparable works. Jan Dostál carries out the process of creation in its entirety and also has the technical equipment to realize even very large objects. 15. Dostál, who is only thirty years old, creates his fantastic sculptures in spacious workshops. Usually the creative process of the studied artist begins with a sketch serving as a basis. He then uses stainless steel and other metals to make his works a reality. With his own bending, grinding and machine tools, with presses, punches and a wide variety of other tools, he can create metal sculptures even in unusually large dimensions – another indication of his forthcoming international career. Dostál’s working method is characterized by intuition and creativity as well as 10 years of experience in working with iron and stainless steel. To bring his visions to life, Jan Dostál likes to experiment with new technologies and processes. His holistic approach allows his works to connect with each location in a unique way. Jan Dostál combines talent, a love of experimentation and professionalism with a visionary and focused approach to thinking: he is definitely a force to be reckoned with. What can you expect from the premiere vernissage? Jan Dostál’s premiere, entitled “Living Stainless Steel,” will offer an extraordinary experience. In addition to the artist himself, who will be on hand to offer personal interaction, you will be able to experience the fascinating stainless steel sculptures in harmony with the beautiful nature of the outdoor gallery of La Gioia Ascona on Lake Maggiore. 25 SEPTEMBER 2021 ART ADVENTURE BODENSEE 2021 A feast for all the senses. An exceptional artist met an exceptional musician in an exceptional location. Guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening at a place that was specially created to showcase art and music in the perfect setting. Dear guests and enthusiasts of ART ADVENTURE at the MAC from 25 September 2021, many weeks of preparation and organisation finally came to an end last weekend at our art event….and what an event it was! An explosion of unique art, beautiful music and culinary delights in a fantastic location. It was important for us to hold a memorable event. We would like to take this opportunity to mention that our artist, Michael Sazarin, was overwhelmed by the evening he shared with his many guests. The demand for Michael’s pictures, of which a significant number have been sold to date, demonstrates a mutually ‘functioning chemistry’. The significance of this painting for the ambience was impressively portrayed in the photo montages displayed in the tunnel of light. This motivated many visitors to settle on a purchase before the price of the Sazarin painting increased the following Saturday. Congratulations on this decision! We would like to say a warm THANK YOU to our lovely guests, fantastic team, the wonderful Michael Sazarin and simply everyone who attended and experienced this first ART ADVENTURE with us. It’s not all over, though. More events are planned for 2022. Until then, you are welcome to visit La Gioia Ascona for a glass of bubbly and to admire our art and jewellery collections.
